Wang Yi Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov of Uzbekistan

On April 24, 2018, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov of Uzbekistan.

Wang Yi expressed that since the establishment of comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan, both countries have continuously enhanced political mutual trust and deeply boosted practical cooperation. President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev have built sound working relations and personal friendship, leading the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. China is willing to make joint efforts with Uzbekistan to strengthen the docking of strategies, promote connectivity, expand people-to-people and cultural as well as local cooperation, and forge new highlights of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", so as to advance the improvement and upgrade of bilateral cooperation and to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results as well as common development for the two countries.

Abdulaziz Kamilov expressed that the enhancement of relations with China is always a priority of Uzbekistan's diplomacy. Under the promotion of the two heads of state, bilateral good-neighborly and friendly relations have been continuously consolidated and enhanced. Uzbekistan is ready to, together with China, strengthen communication on state governance and administration, deepen all-round cooperation and jointly deal with the development and changes of international and regional situation, so as to elevate bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to new highs. Uzbekistan highly appreciates China's work during its tenure as the rotating presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and will actively support and cooperate with China to promote the Qingdao Summit for a success.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional topics of common interest.
