On the afternoon of February 27, 2020, Premier Li Keqiang met with Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga at the Great Hall of the People.

Li Keqiang expressed, Mr. President’s special visit to China demonstrates Mongolia’s firm support to China’s fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak and its friendship toward the Chinese people. The Chinese side attaches great importance to China-Mongolia relations. President Xi Jinping will hold talks with you to plan the development of bilateral relations. The Chinese side stands ready to work with the Mongolian side to overcome the impact of the epidemic, and gradually resume our normal exchanges and cooperation. It is believed that when the epidemic is over, the two countries’ relationship will embrace new development opportunities.

Li Keqiang pointed out, China’s epidemic prevention and control work now has shown positive changes, but the task is still arduous and cannot afford to be taken lightly. China is advancing the work on coordinating the prevention and control work with economic and social development, and has confidence and capability to win this battle and achieve this year’s economic and social targets. The Chinese side has always been sharing information with the international community in an open, transparent and timely manner, and is willing to continue to strengthen cooperation with the international community in technical exchanges and experience sharing of epidemic prevention as well as in coordination of prevention and control measures to jointly safeguard world public health security.

Khaltmaa Battulga said, I express my sympathies to the Chinese people for their loss caused by the COVID-19. China has adopted effective measures and achieved positive results in prevention and control work in a short period of time. I believe that China will surely win the battle against the epidemic. As a Chinese saying goes, neighbors wish each other well, just as loved ones do to each other. The Mongolian side is willing to work with the Chinese side to share weal and woe and stay united to overcome difficulties. It is the Mongolian side’s consistent policy to develop long-term good-neighborly and friendly relations with China. The Mongolian side is ready to strengthen political mutual trust, consolidate good-neighborly friendship, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with the Chinese side to elevate bilateral relations to new highs.

Wang Yi and He Lifeng were present.
