Amid intensifying geopolitical conflicts that have severely strained the international assistance system established after the World War II, China has maintained continuity and stability in its foreign aid policies, while prioritizing development.
Since China proposed the Global Development Initiative (GDI) five years ago, it has mobilized nearly $20 billion in development funding and carried out more than 1,100 aid projects.
Against a backdrop of rising humanitarian needs and shrinking development budgets among traditional donors, China remains committed to increasing resource input and promoting international development cooperation.
The China International Development Cooperation Agency will hold the Third High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development on April 22 in Beijing, inviting relevant parties to exchange views on the progress and outcomes of implementing the GDI, as well as China's foreign aid and practices of international development cooperation.
