The 3rd High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development will be held in Beijing next week, a senior official of the China International Development Cooperation Agency said on Tuesday.
The two-day conference, which will kick off on April 21, is aimed at calling for joint efforts to deal with global challenges and facilitate world development, the agency's deputy head Zhao Fengtao said.
Over 20 foreign high-level representatives will attend in person the conference, which is hosted by the agency, Zhao told a news briefing.
With the theme of "Action-Oriented: Building a Global Community of Development for All", this conference will prioritize the pragmatic collaboration in emerging areas to ensure that the achievements benefit the peoples of various countries, Zhao said.
Three panels focusing on digital technology, climate resilience, and multilateral capital cooperation will also be held during the conference, according to him.
The forum on global action for development is not only a platform to share development philosophy, but also a bridge of collaboration to share development resources, he said.
The upcoming conference will generate pragmatic achievements covering the eight major areas under the Global Development Initiative, which will be implemented in developing countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the South Pacific, he said.
According to Zhao, the previous two conferences, held in 2024 and 2025, have yielded over 180 cooperation outcomes.
The agency has carried out major engineering programs as well as "small yet beautiful" programs with dozens of countries, regions and international organizations, including Egypt, Barbados and the United Nations Development Programme, in order to advance the implementation of those outcomes, he noted.
As of today, over 80 percent of those outcomes have been implemented and the rest are being pushed forward steadily, Zhao said.
