CIDCA chairman meets Bangladeshi PM

Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met in Beijing on June 25 with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who is on an official visit to China. Rahman attended the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions, also known as the Summer Davos, which took place from June 23 to 25 in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province.

Chen said that China and Bangladesh are longtime friendly neighbors, and emphasized that over the past 51 years since the establishment of their diplomatic relations, the two countries have respected each other, treated each other equally and achieved win-win cooperation.

Chen noted that under the strategic guidance of the two countries´ leaders, China-Bangladesh relations have maintained high-level development, with fruitful outcomes achieved in cooperation across a variety of areas.

Chen said that the CIDCA is ready to work with Bangladesh to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and deepen development cooperation. He emphasized that his agency would work with the Bangladeshi side to advance both landmark projects and "small yet smart" livelihood projects, and promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, so as to reap more outcomes from the China-Bangladesh comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation.

Rahman expressed gratitude to China for its long-term selfless support for Bangladesh's economic and social development and the improvement of its people's well-being. Recognizing China as a reliable and trustworthy partner and friend, he underscored that people of all walks of life in Bangladesh have formed a solid consensus on friendly cooperation with China.

Rahman expressed Bangladesh's readiness to conduct practical development cooperation with China, so as to achieve mutual benefit and shared development, delivering more benefits to both countries and their peoples.
