
Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, met with Sun Chanthol, deputy prime minister and first vice-chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, in Beijing on June 30.
Sun accompanied Cambodian People's Party President and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen on his visit to China.
Chen stated that China and Cambodia are steadfast friends who have supported each other through thick and thin. He noted that during Hun Sen's visit, the leaders of the two countries reached important consensus on building an all-weather China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.
Chen said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China is ready to work with Cambodia to accelerate the alignment of development strategies, advance both major landmark projects and "small yet smart" livelihood projects, and strengthen exchanges of governance experience, so as to deepen development cooperation and benefit the two countries and their people.
Sun expressed gratitude for China's long-term valuable support and assistance to Cambodia, noting that China remains Cambodia's most important partner in economic development.
Sun expressed Cambodia's readiness to deepen development cooperation with China and strengthen collaboration in infrastructure, trade and investment, in a bid to benefit the people of both countries and achieve more results in building an all-weather Cambodia-China community with a shared future in the new era.
