CIDCA chairman meets Solomon Islands FM

Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with the Solomon Islands' Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Rick Houenipwela on July 13 in Beijing.

Stating that China regards the Solomon Islands as a good friend, good partner and good brother, Chen noted that, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, the bilateral relations have developed in a healthy and stable manner in recent years.

He highlighted that the CIDCA is ready to work with the Solomon Islands to deepen pragmatic development cooperation, including collaboratively initiating “small yet smart” livelihood projects while continuously implementing existing projects, so as to advance the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the Solomon Islands.

Houenipwela spoke highly of the long-standing progress made in the two countries' diplomatic relations since they were established. He expressed gratitude for China's enormous support for the Solomon Islands' economic and social development, as well as the improvement of its people's well-being.

Houenipwela stated that the Solomon Islands is ready to work with China to strengthen cooperation in education, infrastructure and new energy, in a bid to achieve win-win cooperation and better benefit the two countries and their people.
