On Oct 18, Chinese Ambassador to Djibouti Hu Bin and Amina Abdi Aden, Djibouti's minister of city, urban planning and housing, signed the handover documents for the China-aided 500 social housing units, representing their respective governments.

Hu said that the housing project is a key component of China-Djibouti cooperation in enhancing people's well-being under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation framework. He emphasized that the project, which embodies the people-centered development philosophy shared by the two countries, also marks the latest milestone in advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and implementing the Global Development Initiative. It will help improve local residents' living conditions and boost their well-being, Hu said.
Amina expressed gratitude for China's long-standing, robust support for Djibouti and said her country hopes to deepen cooperation with China to deliver more outcomes that can benefit the people of the two countries.
