CIDCA chairman meets UN high commissioner for refugees

On Oct 22, Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Barham Salih, who was in China to attend the 2026 Global Governance Forum (Xiong'an).

Noting that the four global initiatives proposed by China bring valuable stability and positive energy to a world fraught with changes and turmoil, Chen said that the CIDCA stands ready to deepen international development cooperation with the UN refugee agency and other relevant parties to address both the root causes and symptoms of refugee issues to achieve lasting solutions, and advance the implementation of the four global initiatives and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, so as to contribute to world peace and development.

Salih spoke highly of China's important guiding role in international affairs. He thanked China for its robust support for the UN and its refugee agency and expected to deepen practical cooperation with the CIDCA to make greater efforts to ease and ultimately resolve global refugee issues.
