Wang Yi holds talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Abdrakhmanov of Kazakhstan

On April 24, 2018, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Abdrakhmanov of Kazakhstan.

Wang Yi expressed that China and Kazakhstan are friendly neighboring countries connected by mountains and rivers and comprehensive strategic partners sharing close cooperation. Both sides have regarded each other's stability, development and revitalization as good opportunities for respective development, and firmly supported each other in safeguarding core interests. China-Kazakhstan relations have become a model of relations among neighboring countries. China is willing to, together with Kazakhstan, well implement the consensus of leaders of both countries, intensify high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen cooperation in economy, trade, production capacity, finance, energy and infrastructure, boost the co-construction of the "Belt and Road", and further enhance coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs.

Kairat Abdrakhmanov expressed that under the care and promotion of leaders of both countries, the two sides have enjoyed solid political mutual trust and in-depth practical cooperation, and continuously strengthened good-neighborly and friendly relations. Kazakhstan is ready to work with China to further deepen cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, investment, infrastructure and people-to-people and cultural engagement under the "Belt and Road" framework, as well as enhance coordination and cooperation within multilateral mechanisms including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in a bid to elevate bilateral relations to new highs.
