Zimbabwe Vice President Chiwenga meets with Wang Yi

On Jan 12, Zimbabwe Vice President Constantino Chiwenga met with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Harare. 

Chiwenga said, "a friend in need is a friend indeed." Zimbabwe regards China as a true friend. Zimbabwe attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with China. We should take the 40th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to transform our high political mutual trust into practical cooperation in economic, trade and other fields, promote the upgrading of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries. Zimbabwe thanks China for its selfless support and help for Zimbabwe's economic development and post-disaster reconstruction for a long time. Zimbabwe welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and start businesses in Zimbabwe, and will strive to improve business environment and the ease of doing business. Zimbabwe firmly adheres to the one-China policy,supports China on all issues involving its core interests, and stand together with China in international affairs.

Wang Yi spoke highly of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Zimbabwe, and praised Chiwenga for contributing to the all-round development of China-Zimbabwe relations. Wang Yi said, during the period of struggle for national liberation, China and Zimbabwe were close brothers who fought side by side; during the current national construction process, we are mutually beneficial and win-win partners. Zimbabwe has a broad future with its rich resources. China supports Zimbabwe in speeding up the pace of reform and supports Zimbabwe in exploring the road to development in line with its own national conditions. China is willing to share the experience in economic and social development and governance with Zimbabwe with no reservation, and continue to provide assistance and support within its capability. The two sides should closely coordinate and cooperate in multilateral affairs, and jointly oppose unilateralism and bullying. China believes that Zimbabwe has the wisdom and the ability to overcome the temporary difficulties. China will always be a good friend and trusted partner of Zimbabwe.
