Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Khek Cai Mealy Sysoda, Cambodian ambassador to China, on April 15.
Luo said Cambodia is China's neighbor with traditional friendship and the two sides have worked together to combat the COVID-19 pandemic in recent years, making fruitful results in the area of aid and development cooperation.
He said the CIDCA is willing to work with Cambodia to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and continue to support and help the Cambodian royal house and government in carrying out more cooperation on projects benefiting people's livelihoods, in order to make the two sides' cooperation better benefit the two peoples. China will continue to help Cambodia in its fight against the pandemic and social and economic development, and continue to consolidate and deepen the friendship between the two countries and peoples, Luo said.
Sysoda said the successful control of COVID-19 in Cambodia was made possible with the full support of China, especially the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) expert team that China recently sent to the country, which has played an important role in the fight against the virus in Cambodia.
The Cambodian royal house, government and people sincerely appreciate the selfless help and deep friendship of the Chinese government and people, Sysoda said, adding that he hopes China will continue to give strong support to Cambodia's economic development and people's livelihood improvement.
The two sides exchanged views on several specific cooperation projects.
Director-General of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs Bai Bin also attended the meeting.
