On May 12, Ambassador Han Jing attended the handover ceremony of 80 China aid police vehicles to Zambia. The event was attended by the Minister of Home Affairs of Zambia Jack Mwiimbu, Police Inspector General of Zambia Musamba, General Secretary of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Zambia Cui Ming along with approximately 100 government officials and representatives from Chinese enterprises.
Ambassador Han stated that the 80 China aid police vehicles carry the sincere friendship of the Chinese government and people toward the Zambian government and people. They represent the latest manifestation of the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Zambia. China-Zambia public security cooperation aligns with the common interests of both peoples. He expressed confidence that the vehicles would effectively enhance the Zambian police's law enforcement capacity and help provide a safer and more stable social environment for all people living in Zambia.
Minister Mwiimbu and Inspector General Musamba stated in turn that they sincerely appreciate the Chinese government for their long-standing valuable assistance to Zambia. The China aid police vehicles greatly enhance the police's capacity to maintain public security and social order. As Zambia approaches its national elections, making this assistance particularly important. The Zambian government will promptly distribute the vehicles to ten provinces and put them to proper use.
