
Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met on May 18 with Seychelles' Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Barry Faure.
Chen noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Seychelles. Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, friendship and mutual political trust between the two countries have continued to deepen, yielding fruitful cooperation results.
Chen said that the CIDCA is willing to work with Seychelles to implement the important consensus reached by the heads of state, continuously deepen development cooperation and elevate bilateral relations to a higher level.
Faure said that Seychelles and China are close partners that engage in mutually beneficial cooperation, and the relations between the two countries have continued to deepen over the past 50 years. He expressed gratitude for China’s long-standing selfless assistance to Seychelles' economic development and the improvement of its people’s well-being.
He reaffirm Seychelles' firm commitment to the one-China principle and expressed willingness to further strengthen cooperation with China across various areas and deepen the friendship between the two countries.
Chen and Faure exchanged in-depth reviews on specific development cooperation projects and signed cooperation documents related to China's aid to Seychelles.
