
Chen Xiaodong, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Liberian Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti on May 19.
Noting that China and Liberia are good partners and friends, Chen said that the relations between the two countries had been elevated to a strategic partnership at a meeting between their heads of state at the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the two countries have deepened mutual political trust in recent years, with fruitful results achieved in practical cooperation, he added.
Chen said that China stands ready to work with Liberia to implement the crucial consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen development cooperation and continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Liberia strategic partnership.
For her part, Nyanti stated that Liberia highly values its relations with China and is full of confidence and expectations for the development of bilateral relations.
She reaffirmed Liberia's firm commitment to the one-China principle and expressed full support for the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity and the four global initiatives proposed by China.
Moreover, the minister expressed her country's gratitude for China's long-term selfless assistance in the economic development of Liberia and the improvement of its people's well-being.
Nyanti said Liberia is willing to further strengthen cooperation with China in a broad range of fields, in a bid to advance the development of relations between the two sides.
The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on specific development cooperation projects.
