For us here in Madagascar, the blue economy is an opportunity for the government and the private sector to catalyze the economy. So our vision is to make the blue economy one of the main pillars for the emergence of Madagascar while protecting the ecosystems.
Myanmar would like to explore cooperation on blue economy in the areas such as marine environmental protection, sustainable aquaculture and fishing practices, marine pollution, marine litter and plastic pollution, food security, trade, coastal tourism as well as research and education, capacity building and training and sharing of information and best practices.
Mauritius is focusing on the blue economy as a new frontier for development and as the next avenue for our import substitution strategy and for export growth in the short, medium and long term.
