CIDCA chairman meets with Mongolian deputy prime minister

Luo Zhaohui, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Khurelbaatar, deputy prime minister and minister of the economy and development of Mongolia, via video link, on Nov 23, 2022. 

The two sides mainly exchanged views on the prospective outcomes of Mongolian President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh's visit to China. 

Khurelbaatar acknowledged China's long-term assistance to Mongolia's socioeconomic development, including anti-pandemic supplies and vaccine assistance in Mongolia's fight against COVID-19. He said that Mongolia attaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with China and actively supports China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and Global Development Initiative, hoping to benefit from China's development. He said he believes that their president's visit to China will be a success with joint efforts on both sides.

Luo said that China and Mongolia are traditional friendly neighbors. The two countries have had close high-level exchanges and have yielded fruitful results in pragmatic cooperation in recent years, especially in the joint fight against COVID-19. He noted that the two countries are closely working together in development and assistance fields, and that the assistance projects in Mongolia are progressing well. China is prepared for President Ukhnaa Khurelsukh's visit, and ready to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level, he added. 

The two sides also held in-depth exchanges on details of the cooperation projects.

Bai Bin, director-general of the CIDCA's First Department of Regional Affairs, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Chai Wenrui, and Mongolian Ambassador to China Badral Tuvshin were present at the meeting.
