Introduction

China announced creation of a fund to support South-South cooperation and assist developing countries in implementing their agendas at the UN Sustainable Development Summit 2015 in Sept, 2015. In May 2017, the Chinese government planned to provide replenishment of US $1 billion to the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund at a Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
