CIDCA vice chairman holds talks with IOM director general

On May 7, Deng Boqing, vice chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met William Lacy Swing, director general of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

They exchanged views on the establishment of CIDCA and China’s cooperation with the IOM.

Deng said that the establishment of CIDCA shows that China has earnestly fulfilled its international obligations and taken action to build a community of shared future for mankind, which is of great significance to promote and expand South-South cooperation and supply people all over the world with a better life. 

China looks forward to strengthening communication with the IOM to explore mutually beneficial cooperation, promote the Belt and Road Initiative, and implement Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to narrow down the South-North gap and contribute to global development. 

Swing said that the establishment of CIDCA will help China to further promote international development cooperation and play a greater role in the global migration field. 

He looks forward to increased communication and practical cooperation with the CIDCA in advancing the Belt and Road Initiative and implementing Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
