CIDCA chairman meets with ICRC president

Wang Xiaotao, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Peter Maurer, president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), on May 29, and held in-depth discussions on cooperation.

Wang expressed his appreciation for the ICRC's support of China, saying the joint efforts in undertaking projects involving the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund, as well as other exchanges, will promote the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and contribute to common development.

Maurer expressed gratitude for China’s support of the ICRC’s rescue activities, adding that the ICRC will support China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative project and is willing to cooperate with the CIDCA in the countries involved.
