Report on China's aid to African agriculture released

The China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) jointly held a release ceremony for a report on case studies of China's aid projects to African agriculture at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Oct 29.

Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the CIDCA, delivered a keynote speech at the ceremony. Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Ma Zhaoxu, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Assistant Administrator of the UNDP Ahunna Eziakonwa, and permanent representatives of Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau to the United Nations attended the event.

More than 100 people from the UN Secretariat, permanent missions of relevant countries to the UN, non-governmental organizations and media were also in attendance.

The permanent representatives of Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau thanked the Chinese government for implementing agricultural assistance projects in their countries, and highly praised their results, saying that they have significantly improved local grain production, promoted the application of agricultural technology, and effectively enhanced local farmers' income and sustainable development.

After the press conference, a photo exhibition of cooperation projects between China and the UNDP in 2017 was held.
