CIDCA vice-chairman meets with secretary-general of ICAO

Zhou Liujun, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Liu Fang, secretary-general of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), on Dec 18.

They exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in international development.

The ICAO is responsible for formulating international civil aviation technical standards and providing technical assistance to developing countries. The establishment of the CIDCA has provided a historic opportunity for cooperation between the two sides, Liu said. She said she hopes the two sides would strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and jointly carry out assistance to developing countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Zhou congratulated Liu on her re-election as secretary-general of the ICAO, and appreciated the ICAO's long-term contribution to formulating industry standards and helping developing countries strengthen capacity building. He said that the CIDCA is willing to strengthen communication with the ICAO, explore cooperation and jointly promote development of the aviation industry in developing countries.
