Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, executive secretary of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), on Jan 15.
Alisjahbana said that ESCAP member countries possess a great amount of resources and are in different stages of development. She said the member countries should enhance communication and share the best practices with each other to face the diverse challenges nowadays. ESCAP is willing to explore ways of conducting South-South cooperation and tripartite cooperation with the CIDCA to jointly advance the development process.
Zhang said that China has cooperated well with ESCAP member countries in the field of development and support for a long time. The CIDCA cherishes the friendship with UN agencies. China is willing to exert advantages with ESCAP members respectively and strengthen exchanges and cooperation on international affairs to jointly promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
