At the request of the Myanmar government, the Chinese government dispatched an earthquake damage inspection and assessment team to Myanmar on April 16.

The China Earthquake Administration (CEA) team will conduct a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the seismic activity structure, geological disasters, as well as damage to buildings, transportation, power and water supply and communication in areas such as Mandalay that were severely affected by the strong earthquake on March 28.

Cui Jingwen, deputy director-general of the First Department of Regional Affairs of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, attended and addressed the pre-departure mobilization meeting at the Emergency Command Center of the CEA.

China also plans to dispatch health and epidemic prevention, medical treatment, cultural relics protection and structural inspection teams to Myanmar.
