Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), visited Myanmar from Mar 13 to 16.
Deng met with Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of Myanmar U Thaung Tun. Deng said that the friendship between China and Myanmar is profound. The CIDCA is willing to further strengthen communication and coordination with Myanmar and implement the consensus of the leaders of the two countries.
Both sides should promote the Belt and Road Initiative, the construction of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, and the Myanmar “Sustainable Development Plan (2018-2030)” together, and conduct pragmatic cooperation in the future.
U Thaung Tun said that Myanmar attaches great importance to cooperation with China, and believes that the assistance provided by China is very compatible with the national development plan of Myanmar. He thanked China for its long-term support of Myanmar.
Deng also held joint working meetings with Myanmar's Ministry of Planning and Finance and other ministries, and signed agreements for cooperation projects.
