Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Najat Mokhtar, deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who was in Beijing to attend the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, on Apr 25. They exchanged views on cooperation between the two sides.
Mokhtar said that the IAEA is committed to helping developing countries improve the peaceful application of nuclear technology in the areas of human health, food and agriculture, industry and energy, and electricity. The IAEA is willing to strengthen international development cooperation with the CIDCA in the field of peaceful use of nuclear technology.
Deng said that the CIDCA is willing to increase understanding and cooperation with the IAEA to jointly promote the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
