Tunisian president attends groundbreaking ceremony of China-aided Diplomatic Training Academy

Tunisian President Béji Caïd Essebsi attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the China-assisted Tunisian Diplomatic Training Academy and thanked China for its support on May 3.

At the ceremony, Essebsi said that this project is a symbol of the friendship between the Chinese and Tunisian peoples, and has positive significance for the future development of bilateral relations.

Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui told Xinhua News Agency that since the independence of Tunisia, China has provided various forms of assistance and support to Tunisia. Tunisia actively supports and participates in the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, and hopes that the cooperation between the two countries will cover various fields in the future.

Wang Wenbin, Chinese Ambassador to Tunisia, said that the Tunisian Diplomatic Training Academy will become a window for the country to display its international image, and a symbol of cooperation between China and Tunisia.
