Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with António Vitorino, director general of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), who was on a visit to China, on May 31.
They exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in international development.
Vitorino said that the IOM appreciates China's Belt and Road Initiative and efforts to help other countries achieve the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The IOM is willing to maintain close ties with the CIDCA on the basis of good cooperation between the two sides.
Zhang introduced the duties of the CIDCA and China's foreign aid concept. He said that the CIDCA is willing to further strengthen cooperation with the IOM, closely link immigration with development, and make new achievements in promoting international development cooperation through better resolution of immigration issues.
