The 2019 Reunion of China-Graduated Ethiopians was successfully held at the National Place of Ethiopia on Sept 5, 2019.

Abiy said that human resources are one of the most important resources of a country, and education and training are the key to transforming this resource into development advantages.
He commended China for its outstanding contributions to the training of human resource in Ethiopia which have deepened the friendship between the people of the two countries.

Tan congratulated all the Chinese scholarship winners and trainees, added that as the further development of China-Ethiopia overall strategic partnership, the cooperation on human resources will be increasingly important.
This year is the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of China-Ethiopia diplomatic relations, said Tan, adding that he hopes the exchanges and cooperation between China and Ethiopia will continue to write a new chapter.

By Aug 30, 2019, China has offered short-term training opportunities to over 800 Ethiopians covering such areas as education, health care, agriculture, public administration, national governance, industrial manufacturing, investment and trade, and tourism culture. Two hundred and twenty-eight Ethiopians are expected to receive master’s and doctoral degree scholarships in China under the Chinese government’s program.
