Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), signed an agreement with a representative of UNICEF (the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) in October to provide humanitarian assistance to Mozambique due to devastation caused by cyclone Idai.
This is a cooperation project between the two sides under the framework of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund. It promises emergency medicine and hygienic supplies for families and children in Mozambique affected by cyclone Idai to help restore basic medical services and prevent post-disaster epidemics.
