Xi Jinping Sends a Congratulatory Letter to the Third China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum

On October 21, 2019, the third China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum was held in Apia, capital of Samoa. President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the forum.

Xi Jinping noted, leaders of Pacific island countries and I met in Papua New Guinea in November 2018, and agreed to elevate our relations to comprehensive strategic partnerships of mutual respect and common development, which ushered in a new stage of relations between the two sides.

Xi Jinping stressed, holding the third China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum is the important consensus reached between leaders of the Pacific island countries and me. I hope the two sides will make full use of this important platform to strengthen dialogue, communication and cooperation so as to push for greater progress in bilateral cooperation.
