China signs cooperation agreement with UNICEF to provide humanitarian aid to Malawi

Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), signed an agreement with UNICEF representatives on the provision of humanitarian aid to Malawi. 

The partnership between the two sides is carried out under the framework of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund. It will provide safe water and emergency health facilities for families and children in Malawi affected by the intense tropical cyclone Idai, carry out child protection activities, and help the affected areas in Malawi strengthen post-disaster disease surveillance.
