Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Inger Andersen, executive director of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) on Nov 1. They exchanged views on cooperation.
The sustainable development of the environment is an important part of the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, said Zhang. The CIDCA is willing to cooperate with the UNEP in international development and work together to help other developing countries to deal with global environmental challenges.
Andersen said that the establishment of CIDCA is an important measure of China's participating in international development and global well-being improvement. UNEP pays high attention to the cooperation with China and expects to strengthen experience sharing and mutual learning while sharing China's successful experience with other developing countries. UNEP is willing to cooperate with China in Africa and the Asian-Pacific regions and jointly push forward South-South Cooperation and sustainable development.
