CIDCA chairman meets with chair of the OECD Development Assistance Committee

Wang Xiaotao, chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), met with Susanna Moorehead, chair of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) on Nov 15, 2019, to exchange views on enhancing mutual cooperation.

Wang briefed Moorehead on the overall situation of China’s foreign aid, including policy visions and responsibilities of the CIDCA, stressing that China is the biggest developing country in the world and China’s foreign aid work belongs to the scope of South-South cooperation. 

The CIDCA hopes to enhance exchanges with the DAC based on mutual respect, advance mutual understandings and trust, learn from each other, jointly implement the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and promote the construction of a community of shared future for mankind, said Wang.

The DAC attaches great importance to China’s influence and role in international development, said Moorehead, who went on to say that the DAC hopes to establish exchange mechanisms with the CIDCA to carry out experience-sharing in fields such as policy planning, supervision and assessment and tripartite cooperation, and welcomes China’s participation in OECD’s relevant events to make joint contributions to international development.
