Pakistan is currently suffering from locust plague posing a serious threat to its agricultural production and food security. The Chinese government has expressed its concern and condolences.
The China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) has worked with several Chinese ministries to supply goods and technical support to Pakistan including 300,000 liters of malathion and 50 air-power high-efficiency remote sprayers even as China is fighting the COVID-19 epidemic within its own borders.
The first batch of locust control goods provided by China, including 50,000 liters of malathion and 14 air-powered high-efficiency remote sprayers, reached Pakistan on Mar 9, 2020. The remaining goods will be delivered by the end of April.
