The first batch of medical supplies for Algeria, donated by the Chinese government, arrived at Algiers, capital of Algeria on April15.

In his speech, Lotfi expressed his gratitude for China's assistance, saying that since the outbreak of COVID-19,the two countries have established close and important channels of information exchange on pandemic prevention and control, including videoconferences between the two governments and health experts in both countries, which have had a tremendous help on Algeria's fight against the pandemic.

Li said in his speech that China and Algeria are good brothers, friends and partners, and that the two countries have always looked out for each other and helped each other face difficulties.

He said that the Chinese government and people will always stand with the Algerian government and people, and will continue to provide support and assistance to Algeria within their capabilities.

This was only part of the donation by the Chinese government; more medical supplies will soon arrive in Algiers.
