Chinese medical expert team in Ethiopia and experts from the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had a face-to-face exchange of experience on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic on April 20.

During the exchange meeting, members of the team from the West China Hospital of Sichuan University shared China's practices and experiences in its fight against the pandemic and answered questions from the African side. John Nkengasong, director of the Africa CDC, said the face-to-face exchange with Chinese experts was very helpful to Africa's pandemic prevention work. In addition, he expressed appreciation for China's continued support to Africa in its fight against the pandemic.

Nkengasong said that the Africa CDC is working on a big project to accelerate the establishment of a COVID-19 testing partnership, to be based on testing and tracking. The donation of 500,000 test kits from China has helped it launch this initiative, for which he and the Africa CDC are very grateful.
