Zhang said that China attaches great importance to anti-pandemic cooperation with Iraq. China has not only sent medical supplies to Iraq, but also dispatched a team of medical experts there.

The team has already held 27 training sessions for Iraqi personnel and trained over 1,000 medics. The experts have visited nine provinces and regions, attended 18 meetings with more than 200 medical personnel and gone to hospitals to provide professional guidance to their counterparts in Iraq. China stands ready to work with Iraq to achieve a full win against COVID-19, said Zhang.

Saif said that the third batch of Chinese medical supplies will be distributed in the country to continue to improve Iraq’s capabilities in COVID-19 diagnosis and treatment. With the efforts made by the Chinese medical experts, the Iraqi people now have a better understanding of the harm and transmission methods of the COVID-19 and have improved their self-protection awareness. Health institutions in Iraq hope to continue to work with China in combating the virus.
