Chinese medical supplies help Panama fight against COVID-19

Chinese Ambassador to Panama Wei Qiang, Panama’s Foreign Minister Alejandro Guillermo Ferrer López and vice foreign ministers attended the handover ceremony of Chinese medical supplies to Panama on April 29.

Wei said that China thanks Panama for its support and help for China’s fight against pandemic and empathizes with the pandemic challenge faced by Panama now. Based on the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and the spirit of good brothers tiding over difficulties, the Chinese government has sent medical supplies to help Panama fight the virus. Through the joint anti-pandemic response, China and Panama will further strengthen their friendly cooperation.

Ferrer appreciated the selfless support and strong assistance offered by the Chinese government and Chinese people to Panama, saying that it highly demonstrates the brotherly friendship between the peoples of the two countries and fully embodies China’s practice of humanitarianism and deep political trust and friendly coordination between the two countries. Panama is ready to work with China in solidarity to enhance international cooperation in various fields including pandemic prevention and control.
