A handover ceremony was held in Vanuatu for medical supplies donated by the Chinese government to Vanuatu to fight the pandemic on May 5.
The medical supplies include medical masks, protective clothing, goggles, and infrared thermometers.

Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu Zhou Haicheng said that at present the pandemic in China has been effectively controlled and production and daily life has been restored at an accelerated pace, but the global situation is still raging, and the situation in the Pacific islands is worrying.
China shares the difficulties faced by Vanuatu in pandemic prevention and control and post-disaster reconstruction, and is willing to do its utmost to help. China will work together with Vanuatu and other countries to fight the pandemic and to provide medical supplies in the name of a community of shared future for mankind. It is believed that in the course of fighting side by side, the friendship between China and Vanuatu will be strengthened, and their relations will usher in a better tomorrow.

Prime Minister of Vanuatu Bob Loughman said that Vanuatu attaches great importance to the development of relations with China, and that China has long provided it with a lot of selfless help. China has made great contributions to Vanuatu’s economic and social development and to the improvement of the well-being of its people, for which Vanuatu is deeply grateful.
China responded quickly when Vanuatu was facing difficulties such as the pandemic and the hurricane, and provided in-time support. Vanuatu is willing to strengthen communication with China, maintain good bilateral relations, deepen practical cooperation in various fields and achieve more fruitful results in the future.
