Chen said that China have successfully contained COVID-19 and provided as much assistance as possible to other countries including the Central African Republic.

On May 18 at the 73rd World Health Assembly, the Chinese president expressed his support for the leading role of the World Health Organization (WHO), and called on international society to expand assistance to African countries, enhance cooperation and help virus-hit countries, especially developing countries, fight the COVID-19 and restore social and economic development. China will continue to uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and help the Central African Republic fight the virus by strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Touadera said in an interview that though faced with the pandemic challenge China is still trying its best to help the Central African Republic fight COVID-19. China’s assistance to the country not only demonstrates the united spirit of the international society in fighting the virus, but also shows that the friendly cooperation between the two countries continues to grow. The government and people of the Central African Republic are grateful for the brotherly gestures extended by the Chinese president, Chinese government and people.

Moloua said that the Chinese supplies will greatly help the country fight COVID-19 and the government will make the best use of them to actively combat the virus.

On behalf of the Chinese government, Chen handed over the supplies to Touadera and signed the handover certificates with Moloua.
