A medical team dispatched by the Chinese government arrived in Brazzaville, capital of the Republic of the Congo, on May 23 to help the country's pandemic prevention and control.
Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of the Congo Ma Fulin and representatives from the health and foreign ministries of the Republic of the Congo welcomed the experts at the pier. The expert team arrived by water after successfully completing their mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

During their stay, the Chinese experts will train local medical workers about diagnosis and treatment, nursing and laboratory testing, and provide guidance in building a pandemic prevention and control mechanism, regulating epidemiological investigation as well as identifying close contacts and those needing to quarantine.
In addition, the medical team will also visit the Regional Office of the World Health Organization for Africa in Brazzaville.
The 12-memeber team specializes in respiratory treatment, infection, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, infectious disease control, medical examination, medical imaging and nursing.
