Zhou Liujun, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), held a videoconference with Amadou Hott, minister of the economy, planning and international cooperation of Senegal, on Oct 15.
Zhou said that under the joint leadership of the two heads of state in recent years China-Senegal relations have entered their best period in history, and bilateral development cooperation has achieved fruitful results. Especially in face of the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 this year, the people of the two countries have worked together and helped each other to fight the virus, fully demonstrating the profound friendship between China and Senegal.
China is willing to work with Senegal to further deepen development cooperation, jointly make a new blueprint for development cooperation after the pandemic, and push bilateral relations to a new level, added Zhou.
Hott thanked the Chinese government for its selfless assistance and support to Senegal’s economic and social development as well as its fight against the pandemic. Senegal stands ready to continue to work closely with China, implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, actively promote the agreed projects, and continuously consolidate the comprehensive strategic partnership between Senegal and China to achieve common development.
The two sides also exchanged views on specific cooperation projects.
