China-Pakistan Economic Corridor's joint working group holds 2nd meeting

Deng Boqing, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), and Mathar Niaz Rana, secretary of the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives of Pakistan, co-chaired the second meeting of the Joint Working Group on Socio-economic Development under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Framework via video link on Nov 4, 2020.

Deng said that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners. The Joint Working Group has carried out practical cooperation and achieved positive results in promoting high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic this year, China and Pakistan supported and helped each other to overcome the difficulties, demonstrating the profound traditional friendship between the two countries and two peoples. China is willing to continue to deepen cooperation with Pakistan in the field of social development and people's livelihood and promote the continuous development of bilateral relations, added Deng. 

Rana said that the Pakistani government and people sincerely thank the Chinese government for its long-term selfless assistance and support for Pakistan's economic and social development and the fight against the pandemic. In the past two years, the projects that the Joint Working Group agreed on have progressed smoothly, and Pakistan stands ready to cooperate closely with China to achieve more results.
