China, UNCTAD sign deal to help Barbados with post-COVID-19 recovery

Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), signed an agreement with Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Isabelle Durant on Dec 8 to support Barbados' sustainable recovery from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic by expanding economic diversification and increasing risk avoidance.

The first cooperation project signed by the two sides under the framework of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund, it aims to jointly help Barbados cope with the impact imposed by the pandemic and achieve post-pandemic inclusive growth and sustainable recovery.
