China, UNIDO sign agreement to help Iran respond to COVID-19

Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), signed an agreement on assistance for Iran's COVID-19 pandemic emergency response with Li Yong, director general of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), on Dec 30, 2020.

The project, under the framework of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund, aims to help Iran cope with the COVID-19 pandemic, improve the country's emergency capabilities in disposing of medical waste, and strengthen its management in ensuring the safety of medical waste and environmental soundness.
