Zhang Maoyu, vice-chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), inked an agreement with a representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in February on a project to provide health and medical assistance to Botswana and Lesotho, two African countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project, under the framework of the South-South Cooperation Assistance Fund, aims to help strengthen the two African countries’ ability to prevent, control and respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and HIV infections, and to improve their basic health services, maternal and child healthcare and reproductive health services.
