A signing ceremony for the handover certificate of the vaccines donated by China to Zimbabwe was held at the Zimbabwean presidential palace in Harare, capital of the country, on Feb 15.

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and vice-presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi, as well as Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe Guo Shaochun, attended the handover ceremony.

Mnangagwa made remarks at the ceremony, highly praising the China-donated COVID-19 vaccines. He said that China's donation to Zimbabwe for the fight against the pandemic manifests the long-standing and unshakable partnership between the two countries.

The China-donated vaccines will provide new hope to Zimbabwe's fight against the pandemic, he said, adding that his country has great confidence in winning a final victory.

Mnangagwa once again expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Chinese leadership, government and people.

At the ceremony, Mnangagwa and Guo, on behalf of Zimbabwe and China respectively, signed the handover certificate.
