Iraq receives COVID-19 vaccine assistance from China

CIDCA| Updated: 2021-03-16

The first shipment of China-donated inactivated COVID-19 vaccine from Chinese company Sinopharm arrived in Baghdad, capital of Iraq, on March 2. It was delivered to the Iraqi Ministry of Health.

The vaccine will be administered freely to citizens in different provinces.

China is actively discussing with Iraq about exporting more COVID-19 vaccines to Iraq if its production capability allows. Relevant agreements are under negotiations.
