A batch of COVID-19 vaccine donated by China to EL Salvador arrived in the country's capital city of San Salvador on April 6.
Salvadoran President Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez expressed his appreciation for the donation from the Chinese leadership and people on Twitter.
El Salvador's Minister of Health Francisco Alabi and Chinese Ambassador to El Salvador Ou Jianhong received the shipment of vaccine at the airport and attended the press conference.
Ou said in his speech that China's vaccine donation to EL Salvador showed again the two sides' fruits of anti-pandemic cooperation, reflected China's solid support for the Salvadoran fight against the pandemic and for the country's safeguarding of its people's health, and vividly manifested the fact that China and EL Salvador are good friends and partners.
The vaccine cooperation is also a epitome of the growing relations and friendly mutual cooperation between the two countries, said Ou, adding that China is looking forward to a brighter future for the bilateral relations written by people from both countries after the common victory over the pandemic.
Alabi said that China has used practical activities to help countries in serious situations in the fight against the pandemic and contributed to the world's anti-pandemic endeavors.
The batch of vaccine means hope and health for the Salvadoran people and will strongly promote the country's anti-pandemic efforts and build a solid foundation for the final victory.
